Grababu Named Baseball Player of the Week; Parise and Wilson Selected for Pitcher, Rookie Honors

WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Fordham sophomore Anthony Grabau as its Under Armour Baseball Player of the Week and Saint Joseph’s junior Luke Parise was named Pitcher of the Week. Richmond freshman Evan Wilson captured Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played from April 6-12.
 
Grabau had a big week for the Rams to help the team go 4-1 on the week... The shortstop from Lynnfield, Mass., hit .524 (11-for-21) with two doubles, three home runs, and 12 RBI. He added a .577 on-base percentage and 1.143 slugging percentage. On Tuesday, he became the first Ram since 2017 to hit for the cycle at FDU, going 4-for-4 with four runs scored and five RBI. He was 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI in the A-10 series opener at La Salle. Grabau had three hits, three runs, and three RBI in the doubleheader sweep of La Salle on Saturday.
 
Parise started the second game of a doubleheader against George Mason. A right-handed pitcher from Camp Hill, Pa., he allowed three hits and fanned two in six shutout innings as the Hawks rolled past the Patriots to win the weekend series. Parise retired the first seven batters of the game and took a no-hitter into the fourth inning, eventually earning the win.
 
In four starts in last week in right field, Wilson slashed .500 / .556 / 1.313 going 8-for-16, with six runs, one double, four home runs and eight RBI. Against JMU, the Lancaster, Pa., native hit a two-run home run, and he hit two more dingers against Dayton in Saturday's contest. He led off the first inning with a home run then had a two-RBI hit in a six-run first inning. He hit his second home run in the game in the seventh inning. He closed the series Sunday with a solo home run in the second inning to jump start the Spider scoring
