WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Saint Joseph’s sophomore Blake Primrose as its Under Armour Baseball Player of the Week and Saint Louis senior Ben Cherico was named Pitcher of the Week. Davidson freshman Matt Manjooran captured Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played from April 6-12.

Primrose hit .500 this week and upped his OPS to 1.994 as he helped power the Hawks to a 4-0 week to claim his second consecutive A-10 Player of the Week nod. The catcher from Pittsburgh went 1-for-2 with three walks, two runs scored, three RBI, and a home run to help the Hawks punch their ticket to the Liberty Bell Classic championship game with a win over Rider on Tuesday. Then over the weekend at Dayton, he was 7-of-14 with six runs scored, 10 driven in, two walks, and three home runs across three games. He has hit seven home runs in his last seven games to take over the league lead with 13.

Cherico delivered a dominant performance Friday at George Washington, tossing a complete-game shutout to lead Saint Louis to victory. The senior right-hander from Ridgefield, Conn. was in control from the first pitch to the final out, allowing just two hits and two walks across 9.0 innings. Cherico matched his career high with 10 strikeouts, overpowering GW hitters while keeping them off balance all game long. The win moves him to 3-3 on the season and marks the first complete game of his career. His effort also etched his name in the program record book, as the complete game shutout was the first by a Billiken since 2021.

Manjooran, an infielder from Camas, Wash., hit .471 (8-17) with a 1.453 OPS, including an .882 slugging. He hit two doubles, a triple and a home run. Driving in a total of seven runners in a series sweep of St. Bonaventure and a win over nearby Queens. This included a monster effort in the middle game against the Bonnies where he was a double shy of a cycle, and he was 4-for-4 with six RBI.
