WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference selected George Mason senior Kate Anders as its Under Armour Offensive Player of the Week, and St. Bonaventure sophomore Judy Mahoney as Defensive Player of the Week. George Washington freshman Daisen Iwan earned Rookie of the Week honors. The league announced the awards on Monday for games from Feb. 9-15.
Anders delivered two standout offensive performances for George Mason, totaling 15 points across wins over Radford and Youngstown State. The midfielder from Portland tallied five goals and four assists against Radford, adding two draw controls as well. Anders capped the weekend with three goals and three assists at Youngstown State, placing four of her five shots on target.
Mahoney, a goalkeeper from Randolph, N.J., put together a commanding performance in St. Bonaventure’s 12-2 win over defending NEC champion LIU. Making her first career start in net, Mahoney made nine saves for a .818 save percentage, holding LIU scoreless for the first 33:38 of game time.
Iwan shined while getting the start for George Washington, helping lead George Washington to a 14-8 win over William & Mary. The midfielder from Rumson, N.J. scored two goals on two shots for the Revolutionaries, recording eight draw controls as well.
