WASHINGTON – St. Bonaventure senior Brooke Piper earned Under Armour Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week and Rhode Island redshirt senior Casey Phelps collected Defensive Player of the Week. Davidson freshman Kaitlyn Uller was named Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday. The awards are for games played from Feb. 23 to March 1st.
Piper, an Aurora, Ontario native, tallied eight points in a two-win week for St. Bonaventure. She scored a hat trick with two assists in the Bonnies win over Robert Morris. Piper also tallied six ground balls, five draw controls and caused two turnovers in the game. In St. Bonaventure’s win Niagara, Piper scored another hat trick with two ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers.
In Rhode Island’s defeat over Merrimack, Phelps recorded 16 saves in goal. The Olney, MD native recorded a 69.6 save percentage and tallied four ground balls.
Uller, a Wellesley, MA native, assisted Davidson in its two wins over Winthrop and Queens. She scored five goals across two games, adding a caused turnover and two ground balls.
