WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Davidson junior Elena Garcia-Guerrios its Under Armour Volleyball Player of the Week. Duquesne junior Jordan Robertson was chosen as the league’s Defensive Player of the Week. Saint Louis freshman Ellie Rink was selected as the Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played from September 15-21.
 
Garcia-Guerrios posted double-doubles in kills and digs in both matches against Duke and App State. She collected a career-high 26 kills against App State with a .317 hitting percentage. The 26 kills are the most by a Davidson scholar-athlete in a match since 2021. The outside hitter from Manati, Puerto Rico also had a season-high 15 digs against the Mountaineers. Earlier in the week, Garcia-Guerrios had 18 kills and 13 digs in a win over Duke.
 
Robertson helped Duquesne go 1-1 on the weekend while averaging 1.71 blocks and 1.14 digs. She finished with 12.0 total blocks, nine block assists, and three solo blocks. Robertson began the weekend with five blocks (four block assists, one solo), four service aces and three digs in a win over Buffalo. The middle blocker form Coral Springs, Fla., ended the weekend by tying a season-high seven total blocks (five block assists, two solo) while totaling five digs against Saint Francis.
 
Rink powered the Billikens on both sides of the ball last week. She averaged 5.20 kills and 2.93 digs per set across 15 sets while hitting .266. An outside hitter from Bloomington, Ill., she notched three straight double-doubles, recording at least 23 kills in every match. Her 29 kills on .365 hitting against Missouri State are tied for the most in the A-10 this season and tied for the second most by any freshman nationally. All three of her kill totals from the weekend rank among the league’s top seven this year.
