WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Dayton junior Kamryn Hunt its Under Armour Volleyball Player of the Week. George Mason junior Autumn Martinez-Robinson was chosen as the league’s Defensive Player of the Week. Saint Louis freshman Ellie Rink was selected as the Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played from Sept. 29 – Oct. 5.
Hunt led the Flyers in kills with 46 against Duquesne and Fordham, averaging 4.60 kills per set with a .343 attack percentage. She also totaled 30 digs, including tallying a 13-kill, 13-dig double-double versus Fordham. An outside hitter form Sylvania, Ohio, Hunt had 18 kills, hitting. 368 at Duquesne and 15 kills with an impressive .406 hitting percentage in the second match versus Fordham. She also had three blocks in 10 sets played and totaled 50 points scored for a 5.0 per set clip.
Martinez-Robinson was the anchor of the backline for the Patriots this weekend in their two wins over Duquesne. Averaging 5.33 digs per set, the libero from Lutz, Fla. also averaged 0.78 assists and 0.56 service aces over the nine sets played. She had 27 digs in the first match at Duquesne, followed by 21 in the second match against the Dukes.
Rink added two more double-doubles this weekend, giving her eight on the season. She averaged 3.89 kills, 2.78 digs and .67 blocks per set across nine sets. An outside hitter from Bloomington, Ill., Rink hit .237 on the weekend. On Friday, Rink recorded 21 kills with 11 digs for her fourth game with a double-double that featured 20 or more kills. It marks her third A-10 rookie honor this season.
