Dukes, UMass Earn Women’s Key Track & Field Weekly Honors; ‘Cats, Mason Claim Men’s Top Awards

WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Duquesne senior Hannah Seitzinger and sophomore Megan Frazee of Massachusetts its Women's Track and Field Performers of the Week. Davidson senior Josh Hardin and Geni Roberts of George Mason were named Men’s Track and Field Performers. VCU women’s freshman Myzhane Solomon and and men’s freshman Chanan Mathis were selected as Indoor Track & Field Rookies of the Week. The awards were announced Tuesday and are for meets held Feb. 5-11.
 
Seitzinger of Belle Vernon, Pa., charted a new indoor-best 55.80 - the fastest time in the A-10 this season - to win the 80-runner field at the SPIRE Collegiate Indoor Games. With the new indoor personal record, Seitzinger moves up to third on the Duquesne all-time 400 meter leaderboard. Seitzinger was also a member of the winning 4x400m relay team at the meet which had the fastest time in the A-10 this season.
 
Frazee took first in the pole vault at the BU Valentine Invitational on Friday. Frazee, a Westford, Mass., native won during a jump off with a mark of 12' 8.25". The jump is good for second all-time at UMass in the indoor pole vault.
 

Solomon clocked a 8.78 in 60-meter hurdles, placing fourth at the 2024 Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational. The Newport News, Va., product placed third in A-10 rankings overall, with top freshman in freshman time.

 
Hardin set a school record and posted a conference-best time in the 400 meters at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational over the weekend. The Bluff City, Tenn., native ran a 47.58 to take seventh out of over 200 competitors at the meet. He also ran an indoor-career-best in the 200 meters with a time of 21.91. Hardin now sits atop the A-10 in the 400 and ranks tied for seventh in the 200.
 
Roberts, of Denton, Md., placed second in the long jump in the Darius Dixon Invitational reaching a distance of 7.20 meters. That leap was good enough for third in the A-10 rankings this season.
 
Mathis, a product of Spotsylvania, Va., crossed the line at 21.91 in the 200 meters. It was the seventh best time in the Atlantic 10 this year and the top time for a freshman competitor.
