NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Dayton redshirt-senior Amelia Moore its Volleyball Player of the Week, while Davidson senior Bella Brady earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Duquesne freshman once again earned Rookie of the Week accolades. The awards, announced Monday, are for the final week of the regular season, Nov. 6-12.
Moore averaged 3.17 kills per set and 1.50 digs per set for the Flyers as Dayton closed out the regular season with two 3-0 wins against VCU. On Friday, the middle blocker from Ocean Springs, Miss., tallied a season-high 13 kills to go with a match-high six blocks and two digs as UD claimed the program's 16th A-10 regular season title. In Saturday's win, Moore recorded six kills while swinging at .462 and collected three blocks and three digs. For the weekend, she averaged a .395 hitting percentage and 4.00 points/set.
Brady picked up 66 digs during a 2-0 weekend for the 'Cats, averaging a monstrous 7.33 digs per set while shattering a 23-year old school record to become Davidson's all-time leader in digs. The libero from Winter Park, Fla., was one dig shy of matching her career-high (36) on Saturday. She also served four aces and passed .913 on serve receive.
Wilmot racked up 85 assists, the second most for the week in the A-10. The Alexandria, Va., native, averaged 9.44 assists and 2.11 digs per set as the six-time A-10 Rookie of the Week notched her 13th double-double of the season in the Friday night match against Davidson with 47 assists and 12 digs.
