Undefeated Saint Louis Secures A-10 Women's Soccer Regular-Season Title, Cements Top Seed for Championship

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Saint Louis captured the Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Soccer regular-season title and will serve as the No. 1 overall seed entering next week’s A-10 Women’s Soccer Championship. The eight-team, single-elimination tournament begins Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29 with on-campus quarterfinal action and will conclude with the Championship Final on Sunday, Nov. 6, all streamed live via ESPN+.
 
The Billikens, ranked 11th nationally, closed out the 2022 campaign with a league-best 17-1-0 overall mark along with an unbeaten 10-0-0 record in conference competition, locking down the program’s fifth overall regular-season title in the process. SLU opens championship play against No. 8 Loyola Chicago on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. CT.
 
The Ramblers, who finished the year at 8-7-3 overall and 4-5-1 in league competition, fought their way to the program’s first-ever A-10 Women’s Soccer Championship appearance after joining the Atlantic 10 this past July, clinching the eighth seed over Fordham via a won tiebreaker through composite record versus common conference opponents.
 
In addition to Saint Louis, second-seeded Dayton (14-3-1) earned the right to host a quarterfinal as well via a strong 8-2-0 record against A-10 competition. The Flyers will play at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 against No. 7 Massachusetts, which closed out the regular season with a 5-8-5 overall record and 4-4-2 in conference play.
 
VCU (8-2-8) garnered the third overall seed behind a 6-1-3 mark in league competition and will host No. 6 Saint Joseph’s (4-7-7, 3-2-5 A-10) at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 28 in the opening round. The Hawks topped UMass in a tiebreaker for the sixth seed via composite record versus common conference opponents.
 
Finally, Davidson (12-2-4) slotted in as the No. 4 overall seed and final quarterfinals host site behind a 5-2-3 record within the A-10, and will square off against fifth overall Duquesne (6-6-3, 4-3-3 A-10) at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 28.
 
Following the quarterfinal round, pairings will be re-seeded heading into the semfinals.
 
The winner of the Atlantic 10 Women’s Soccer Championship will receive the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, which opens Friday, Nov. 11.
