WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference has announced its weekly honors in women’s soccer. The awards are for games played from August 24-30.

Offensive Player of the Week: Audrey Smith (St. Peters, Mo.), Saint Louis
Defensive Player of the Week: Ali Hughes (New Kensington, Pa.), Duquesne
Rookie of the Week: Lauren Lebo (Mechanicsburg, Pa.), Saint Joseph’s

Audrey Smith earned her Offensive Player of the Week honors off the back of a two-goal, one-assist week. The St. Peters, Missouri native was key in keeping the Billikens undefeated on the week, finding the back of the net to level the score against Illinois and earn a come-from-behind draw. At Indiana, she provided the primary assist on Saint Louis’ match-winning goal before tacking on an insurance goal, her team-leading fourth marker of the season.

Ali Hughes proved to be a stalwart in goal for the Dukes this week en route to Defensive Player of the Week. Against Akron, Hughes recorded a personal high in saves with seven in a 2-0 shutout victory over the Zips. Hughes would only need one more game to reset the new career best, making nine stops against Kent State in a 1-0 clean sheet win. Hughes ranks first in the conference in shutouts per game (.750) and saves per game (6.5) on the young season.

Lauren Lebo delivered a standout goaltending performance of her own this week, collecting seven saves against Bucknell to help the Hawks secure a 1-0 win over Bucknell. Lebo stepped up when it mattered most, making six of her seven stops in the second half to keep Saint Joseph’s undefeated on the year.
