ORLANDO, Fla. – Eighth-seeded Fordham defeated No. 9 Saint Louis 4-1 in Wednesday’s third match at the USTA National Campus. With the win, the Rams will face No. 1 VCU Thursday afternoon at the A-10 Women’s Tennis Championship.
The pairing of Fordham’s Maia Balce and Gianna Insogna got the Rams off to a good start in doubles by beating SLU’s Alba Salinas and Ariana Rodriguez, 6-3. Tatiana Grigoryan and Carolina Sa defeated Alana Bourgeois and Gabriella Papachrisanthou to clinch the doubles point for the Rams
Whitney Weisberg defeated Papachrisanthou in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 6 singles spot. In No. 4 singles action, Insogna defeated Rodriguez, 6-1, 7-5. By a score of 6-0, 6-4, Salinas dispatched Sa to claim the No. 5 court, while Balce was victorious over Bourgeois, 6-4, 6-4 to claim the match point for the Rams.

ORLANDO, Fla.—Third-seeded Davidson punched their ticket to Friday’s quarterfinals with a 4-0 win over No. 14 St. Bonaventure at the USTA National Campus on Wednesday.
The Wildcats’ tandem of Sam Armas and Alyssa Hahn were victorious over Dominique Mortier and Nicole Kozinski at the No. 3 doubles spot. Lindsay Song and Ally Sexton defeated St. Bonaventure's Francesca Chin and Buse Gunay to clinch the doubles point for Davidson at No. 2 doubles.
Song, playing at No. 5 singles, recorded the first win in singles play for the Wildcats, with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Francesca Chin. On the No. 6 court, Ava Todd defeated Eleanor Gerhard, 6-1, 6-1. The match-clinching point was won by Alexa Abele, who dispatched Dominique Mortier, 6-1, 6-1.
Davidson will face the winner of the No.6 Massachusetts/No. 11 Saint Joseph’s matchup, in Friday’s quarterfinals at 3:00 pm.
