WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference has announced its weekly honors in women’s soccer. The awards are for games played from September 21-27.
Offensive Player of the Week: Hope Kim (Jr., Overland Park, Kan.), Saint Louis
Defensive Player of the Week: Kasey Cannistraro (Sr., Oakton, Va.), Dayton
Rookie of the Week: Monique McEnhimer (Fr., Richmond, Va.), VCU
Hope Kim was a force for Saint Louis in their victory over George Mason. The junior from Overland Park, Kansas registered the first multi-goal game of her Saint Louis career with a hat trick in a 3-0 win. She scored all three goals in the second half while playing only 17 minutes. Kim’s efforts have the Billikens sitting atop the A10 standings after early conference play.
Kasey Cannistraro is a big reason why Dayton remains undefeated in conference play after a big weekend in goal. The Oakton, Va. native stopped all five shots she faced against Saint Louis in Thursday night’s 0-0 draw before turning aside four shots at Loyola Chicago for her fourth consecutive clean sheet. The Flyers open league play at 1-0-2 thus far.
Monique McEnhimer provided a spark for the Rams offense in a big way this week, scoring three goals and adding an assist across VCU’s two games. McEnhimer scored her first career brace and had an assist against St. Bonaventure for a career-high five-point game, the most by a Ram in a game this season. She then scored the game-tying goal in a close game with Duquesne to give her seven points this week.
