WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference has announced its weekly honors in volleyball. The awards are for games played from August 28-30.
 
Player of the Week: Chloe Wilmot (Alexandria, Va.), Duquesne
Defensive Player of the Week: Dakota Henry (Loveland, Ohio), Rhode Island
Rookie of the Week: Sidney Sprada (Brookville, Ohio), Dayton
 
Chloe Wilmot was named MVP at Youngstown State’s YSU Invitational over the weekend, helping Duquesne post a 3-0 record for the second consecutive season. The senior setter totaled 111 assists, 13 digs, nine kills and four service aces, averaging 11.10 assists and 1.30 digs per set across the Dukes’ three matches. Wilmot opened her senior campaign with 35 assists and seven digs in a 3-0 sweep of Canisius. She followed that up with 46 assists in a 3-1 victory over the host Penguins, a performance that saw her surpass 3,000 career assists. With the milestone, the Virginia native became just the sixth player in program history to reach the mark. Wilmot also added four kills and four blocks against YSU. The senior closed out the tournament with 30 assists, three kills and three service aces in a 3-0 sweep of Mercyhurst.
 
Dakota Henry was named to the CCSU All-Tournament Team, averaging 5.29 digs per set while leading the team to wins over Siena (3-2), Holy Cross (3-2), and the host Blue Devils (3-1). The junior recorded 20-plus digs in all three matches—she started with 26 digs in the season opener against Siena, and followed that with 27 against Holy Cross which is the fifth-most in a match in program history since the start of rally scoring in 2001. Henry then had 20 digs in the four-set win over CCSU, a key reason the Rams converted 61.6 percent of its sideout chances in the match. Henry had a .915 serve-receive percentage, with just six errors in 71 chances and zero receive errors against both Siena and Holy Cross. She also had 14 assists on the weekend.
 
Sidney Sprada made an immediate impact in her first weekend of collegiate volleyball, earning all-tournament honors as Dayton hosted the Flyer/Raider Invitational over the weekend. The freshman led the team with 41 kills, six aces and 49.5 points and also tallied 27 digs, one block solo and three block assists. Perhaps most impressively, Sprada recorded 18 kills and served up four aces in her first match as a collegian, a four-set win over a Marquette team that entered the weekend receiving votes in the AVCA’s national preseason poll. Overall, Dayton went 3-0 on the weekend with wins over the Golden Eagles as well as Santa Clara and Eastern Illinois.
