WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference has announced its weekly honors in volleyball. The awards are for games played from October 19-25.

Player of the Week: Tamia Maddox (So., Frankfort, Ill.), Saint Louis
Defensive Player of the Week: Avary DeBlieck (Sr., Algonquin, Ill.), Loyola Chicago
Rookie of the Week: Sidney Sprada (Fr., Brookville, Ohio), Dayton

Tamia Maddox totaled 44 kills over weekend, collecting a career-high 23 on Friday and following that up with 21 on Saturday as the Billikens swept George Mason by a pair of 3-2 scores. The sophomore averaged 4.4 kills, 1.4 digs and 0.5 blocks per set as well as 4.75 points per set on the weekend. Maddox is the first player this season to have 20+ kills against the same A10 opponent in back-to-back games. SLU enters the week tied for third place and riding a five-game winning streak, its longest in A10 play since 2022.

Avary DeBlieck recorded her first double-double of the season with 10 kills (hitting .588) and 10 blocks (3S/7A) in Saturday’s 3-2 win at Dayton, the Ramblers pinning the Flyers with their first A10 home loss since 2022 (coincidentally, also against Loyola Chicago). The previous night, the senior totaled seven blocks (1S/6A) and chipped in five kills in a five-set loss to the Flyers. DeBlieck currently ranks third in the A10 in blocks/set and ninth in hitting percentage (.285).

Sidney Sprada earned her second Rookie of the Week honor this season, leading Dayton with 39 kills in the weekend split with Loyola Chicago. The freshman also had 20 digs, one assist, one service ace and two block assists and her 4.10 points per set paced the Flyers. Dayton remains atop the A10 standings with a 9-2 record, one game ahead of Loyola Chicago.
