ORLANDO, Fla. – The 2026 Atlantic 10 Women’s Tennis Championship continued on Friday with two semifinal matches at the USTA National Campus. Top-seeded Fordham matched up with fourth-seeded Davidson, and No. 2 seed VCU met No. 3 seed Richmond.
Match 9: No. 1 Fordham def. No. 4 Davidson, 4-1
The top-seeded Fordham Rams earned a strong 4-1 win over No. 4 seed Davidson in the A-10 Women’s Tennis Championship Semifinals on Friday night, advancing to the championship final. Fordham won the doubles point quickly, earning a 6-1 victory on Court 1 and a 6-2 win on Court 2. Nevena Kolarevic kept the momentum going with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at the top singles position, before Catalina Padilla put the Rams ahead 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-2 win against Charlotte Calderwood on Court 4. Davidson’s Ellie Hammond beat Valerija Kargina 6-1, 6-4 to get the Wildcats on the board, but Fordham’s Julianne Nguyen took down Olivia Hooper 7-5, 6-4 at the No. 6 slot to clinch the match.

Match 10: No. 2 VCU No. 3 Richmond
The No. 2 seed VCU Rams rallied from first-set deficit in all three of their singles victories, on Friday, taking down No. 3 seed Richmond 4-2 in Friday’s A-10 Women’s Tennis Championship Semifinals. VCU won the doubles point with victories on Courts 1 and 2. After dropping the doubles match at the No. 3 position, VCU won 6-4 on both positions one and two within seconds of each other. Richmond’s Lainey O’Neil beat Sara Alba 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6 singles to tie the match, and Lucy Webber defeated Elicia Kim 6-4, 6-4 soon after at the No. 5 slot to push the Spiders ahead. VCU’s Sofia Jane Thorne came from behind to take down Sofia Barbulescu 1-6, 6-1, 6-4 at the top position to even the match, before Tania Isabel Andrade Sabando bested Richmond’s Lara Bakhaya 2-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3 at the No. 2 position. Mariam Ibrahim closed the match out for VCU with a 4-3, 6-3, 7-5 win over Elizabeth Novak on Court 3 to send the defending champion Rams back to the A-10 Championship Final.
