ORLANDO, Fla. – The 2026 Atlantic 10 Women’s Tennis Championship continued on Thursday night with the closing two quarterfinal matches at the USTA National Campus. Second-seeded VCU matched up with seventh-seeded Saint Louis, and No. 3 seed Richmond met No. 6 seed Rhode Island.
Match 7: No. 2 VCU def. No. 7 Saint Louis, 4-0
The second-seed VCU Rams earned a strong 4-0 win over No. 7 Saint Louis in the A-10 Women’s Tennis Championship Quarterfinals on Thursday night. VCU won the doubles point with a pair of 6-4 victories on Courts 2 and 3. Andrea Magallanes kept the momentum going with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Saint Louis’ Naima Luthra at the No. 4 singles position. VCU’s Sara Alba took down Aryn Walker 6-2, 6-4 on Court 6, before Sofia Jane Thorne bested Saint Louis’ Emmerson White 6-2, 6-2 at the top position moments later to clinch the match.

The No. 4 seed Davidson Wildcats put together a dominant 4-0 win over No. 5 seed George Washington in Thursday’s A-10 Women’s Tennis Championship Quarterfinals. Rhode Island won the doubles point in narrow fashion, overcoming a loss on Court 1 to win 6-4 on Court 3 and 7-6 (2) on Court 2. The Spiders took control from there, starting with Laney O’Neil’s 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles followed by Abby Lee’s 6-1, 6-1 triumph at the No. 4 position. Richmond’s Lara Bakhaya defeated Rhode Island’s Nikki Fernando 6-4, 6-3, before Sofia Barbulescu clinched the match for the Spiders with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Grace Darcy at the top position.
