ORLANDO, Fla. – The 2026 Atlantic 10 Men’s Tennis Championship got underway on Wednesday with the first round at the USTA National Campus. Eighth-seeded Saint Louis matched up with ninth-seeded Davidson, and No. 7 seed Fordham met No. 10 seed St. Bonaventure.

Match 1: No. 9 Davidson def. No. 8 Saint Louis 4-1
The ninth-seeded Davidson Wildcats opened the 2026 A-10 Men’s Tennis Championship with a 4-1 victory over eighth-seeded Saint Louis. The Wildcats captured the doubles points with victories on Courts 1 and 2. Davidson’s Gregorio Hidalgo and Kai Villagomez clinched the point with a victory at the top position after the teams split on Courts 2 and 3. Hidalgo took down Saint Louis’ Andres Castellanos 7-5, 6-3 at the top singles spot, before Sacha Lefebure got the Billikens on the board with a 6-1 7-6 (4) win over Villagomez on Court 2. Davidson’s Davide Procacci defeated Saint Louis’ Andres Castellanos 7-5, 6-3 on Court 3, before Connor Cole clinched the match for the Wildcats with a 7-6 (4), 6-4 win over Riki Koshimizu on Court 6.

The No. 7 seed Fordham Rams advanced comfortably into the quarterfinals of the 2026 Atlantic 10 Men’s Tennis Championship with a 4-1 victory over No. 13 seed St. Bonaventure. The Rams won the doubles point with victories on Courts 2 and 3. In singles play, Filip Horak put the Rams ahead 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-3 win over St. Bonaventure’s Chase Cahill-Welsh at the No. 3 spot, before Connor Turner got the Bonnies on the board by defeating Mateusz Gradzki 6-3, 6-1 on Court 1. Fordham Ruben Russworm defeated Luke Ollivierre 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 6 position 6-2, 6-0, before Diego Cueto De Romana clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Dhillon Diraj on Court 5.
