Fordham Earns Top Seed Ahead of 2026 Betterment A-10 Women’s Tennis Championship

For the second consecutive season, Fordham has secured the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Tennis Championship. The league announced the seedings on Monday ahead of the 2026 championship. The Betterment A-10 Women’s Tennis Championship begins on Wednesday, April 22 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
 
Fordham earned one of the four first-round byes, entering the championship on a nine-match win streak. The Rams own a 13-9 overall record, winning all five of their matches against A-10 opponents. Fordham will play in the quarterfinals on Thursday, April 23 at 9 a.m. ET, facing the winner of Wednesday’s matchup between No. 8 seed Dayton and No. 9 seed Duquesne.
 
Reigning A-10 champion VCU received the No. 2 seed, also capturing a first-round bye in the process with an 11-10 overall record and 5-0 record against league opponents. The Rams will begin their title defense on Thursday, April 23 against the winner of Wednesday’s meeting between No. 7 seed Saint Louis and No. 10 seed Saint Joseph’s.
 
Richmond earned the No. 3 seed, closing the regular season with a 10-10 overall record and 3-1 mark against Atlantic 10 teams. The Spiders will meet the winner of Wednesday’s first round matchup between No. 6 seed Rhode Island and No. 11 seed George Mason.
 
The final first-round bye went to No. 4 seed Davidson. The Wildcats will await the outcome of Wednesday’s showdown between No. 5 seed George Washington and No. 12 seed St. Bonaventure to determine their quarterfinal opponent.
 
George Washington, St. Bonaventure, Dayton, and Duquesne will open the championship on Wednesday, Apr. 22 at 4:30 p.m. ET. Rhode Island, George Mason, Saint Louis, and Saint Joseph’s will conclude the first day of action at 7:30 p.m. ET.
