George Mason, Rhode Island, Richmond, Saint Joseph's Earn Final Indoor Track and Field Weekly Awards

WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference recognized Saint Joseph’s senior Benjamin Henry and George Mason senior Walt Bannerman as its Men’s Track and Field Performers of the Week, respectively. Rhode Island rookie Carson Dean received Men’s Rookie of the Week.  

Saint Joseph’s senior Tess Crossan earned Women’s Track Performer of the Week, while George Mason graduate student Kennedy Drish collected Women’s Field Performer of the Week. Richmond freshman Sydney Phillips was tabbed as Women’s Rookie of the Week. The awards, which were announced on Tuesday, are for competitions from Feb. 16-22. The awards are the final weekly honors of the season ahead of the A-10 Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday, February 27. 

Henry, a Bethlehem, PA native, competed in the 60M and 4x400M relay at the Philadelphia Metro Meet. He sprinted to a time of 6.88 in the 60M, which ranks fifth in the conference. Henry also won gold on the Hawks 4x400M relay team that turned in the fastest time in the Atlantic 10 this season, running a 3:11.38. 

Bannerman recorded a season-high mark in the pole vault at the Virginia Tech Challenge. He posted a mark of 5.34M, which ranks at the top of the A-10. The Durham, NC native ranks 41st for the pole vault in the NCAA.  

Dean captured gold in the pole vault for Rhode Island at the Brown Invitational. He was one of three Rams that swept the event. Dean cleared 4.75M, which ranks sixth in the conference.  

Crossan, a Collegeville, PA native, led off the 4x400m relay at the Philadelphia Metro Meet on Friday with a 55.991 split, the fastest on the team. The Hawks turned in a school record time of 3:45.93, the fastest time in the conference this season. 

Drish competed in the pole vault at the Virginia Tech Challenge, capturing second place with a mark of 4.34M. The Fisher, IN native, set a personal best for the third time this season. Drish also sits atop the conference and is 25th nationally in the pole vault.  

At the ASICS Last Chance Invite, Phillips won the triple jump in a personal best 11.62 meters. She also placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.48 meters. The Alexandria, VA triple jump ranks 11th in the conference.
