Duquesne, George Mason, La Salle, Loyola Chicago, Rhode Island Capture Under Armour Indoor Track and Field Awards

WASHINGTON – George Mason graduate student Jayden Smith earned Atlantic 10 Conference Under Armour Men’s Track Performer of the Week, while his senior teammate Walt Bannerman collected Men’s Field Performer of the Week. George Mason freshman Kellen La Roche and La Salle freshman Ryan Stankiewicz shared Men’s Rookie of the Week, the A-10 announced on Tuesday. 

Loyola Chicago graduate student Roisin Treacy and Rhode Island senior Lily Saul split Women’s Track Performer of the Week. Duquesne sophomore Rose Kuchera received Women’s Field Performer of the Week and her freshman teammate Isabella Costa earned Women’s Rookie of the Week. The awards are for competitions from Jan. 26 to Feb. 1.  

Smith, a Richmond, VA native, placed first in the 60M Hurdles at the 2026 Patriot Games. He completed the event in 7.80, which is the fastest time in the Atlantic 10 this season. Smith’s mark also ranks 40th in Division I. 

Bannerman cleared a personal best in the pole vault at the 2026 Patriot Games. The Durham, NC native cleared a mark of 5.30M, which ranks first in the conference and tied for 31st in Division I.  

La Roche, a Hampton, VA native, earned a second place finish in the high jump at the 2026 Patriot Games. He recorded a mark of 2.03M, a season best for La Roche. His 2.03M distance ranks fourth in the A-10.  

Stankiewicz competed in the 60M event at the Penn Invite. He placed sixth in the event with a time of 6.87, ranking tied for fourth in the A-10. The Philadelphia, PA native also competed in the 200M dash with a time of 22.22. 

Treacy ran a personal-best 9:16.96 in the women’s 3,000M at the Meyo Invitational, placing seventh and recording the second-fastest time in Loyola program history. The Ashford, Wicklow, Ireland native holds the fastest time in the A-10 this season.  

Saul competed in the mile at the Boston University John Thomas "Terrier" Invitational, finishing with an A-10 best 4:40.78. She finished 22nd overall and was the fourth collegian to cross the finish line.  

Kuchera, a Canonsburg, PA native, broke her own Duquesne program record in the long jump. Leaping a distance of 6.52M, she broke her previous record by more than 17 inches and established a new Youngstown State Invitational record. That mark leads the A-10 and is sixth in Division I. Kuchera also scored 3,694 points in the pentathlon, which leads the A-10. 

Costa posted season bests in four of her five pentathlon events, including a 5.90M in the long jump that etched her name third on the Duquesne all-time list. The long jump mark is the best in the Atlantic 10 for all freshmen this season and fourth overall.
