George Mason, Rhode Island, Richmond, VCU Earn Weekly Indoor Track and Field Awards

WASHINGTON – Rhode Island junior Nick Martin and Rams graduate student Joachim Ennoo were named Atlantic 10 Under Armour Men’s Track and Field Performers of the Week, the A-10 announced on Tuesday. VCU freshman Presten Augustin earned Men’s Rookie of the Week.  

Rhode Island senior Lily Saul collected Women’s Track Performer of the Week, while Richmond senior Molly Wise and VCU redshirt senior Sydney Carr shared Field Performer of the Week. George Mason freshman Kymara Fernandez was tabbed as Women’s Rookie of the Week. The awards are for competitions played from Feb. 9 – 15.  

Martin broke another Rhode Island program record at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational, this time in the mile. He became the first Ram ever to run a sub-four minute pace in the event and finish with a time of 3:59.07. The East Greenwich, RI native holds the fastest mile time in the conference. 

Ennoo captured the triple jump title at the URI Invitational, with a league-best mark of 15.79M. Ennoo, from Leominster, Mass., also placed second in the high jump (7.41M). 

Augustin, a Palm Beach Gardens, FL native, set a VCU program record in the 60M Hurdles. He raced to a time of 7.92, which ranks second overall in the conference.  

Saul broke her own Rhode Island record with an A-10 leading time of 2:04.57 in the 800M at the BU David Hemery Valentine Classic. The Montoursville, Pa. native placed 12th overall and currently ranks 37th in the 800M in Division I. 

For the sixth consecutive meet this season, Wise led the Spiders with a first-place finish in the long jump at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational. Competing in the upper division, Wise posted a mark of 6.17 meters. The Harrodsburg, Ky. native ranks third in the conference for the long jump.  

Carr, a Woodbridge, VA native, set a season-best mark in the triple jump at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational. She captured the event with a mark of 12.14M, which ranks third in the conference.  

Fernandez, from Midlothian, VA, placed second in the triple jump at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational. Her mark of 11.94M ranks sixth in the conference.
