WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference tabbed Massachusetts redshirt junior Kassidy Morris as its Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, and Duquesne senior Hanna Pawela as its Defensive Player of the Week. Rhode Island redshirt freshman Caralie Basuel received Rookie of the Week. The awards, which were announced on Monday, are for games played from April 14 to April 20.

Morris scored a career-high eight goals to lead Massachusetts to a key 20-13 victory over St. Bonaventure. The performance, which is tied for the most by any A-10 player in a single-game this season, helped the Minutewomen secure their 14th consecutive A-10 Regular Season Championship and 16th straight season with either a regular season or tournament title. Morris, a Washago, ON native, scored eight goals on 13 shots.

Pawela tallied a season-best seven caused turnovers, six ground balls and three draw controls in her Senior Day game against Rhode Island. Her seven caused turnovers is the most by an A-10 player in a game this season. Pawela, a Glen Allen, Va. native, finished her Duquesne career second in caused turnovers (158) and fourth in ground balls (169).

Basuel paced Rhode Island with seven goals in the Rams’ victory over Duquesne on Saturday. She matched her season-high in goals and scored the most since the Rams’ inaugural season-opening win in which she also scored seven. Basuel, a Fairfax, V.A. native, scored all seven goals on seven shots and recorded seven draw controls.
