WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 selected Richmond redshirt sophomore Bridget Lonsinger as its Under Armour Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week and Saint Joseph’s junior Kaitlin Nieczpiel as the Defensive Player of the Week. Rhode Island freshman Celie Shield earned Rookie of the Week honors. The league announced the awards on Monday for games played from March 23-29.
 
Lonsinger paced the Spiders offensively in a dominant win over St. Bonaventure, 19-6, on Saturday afternoon. The Verona, N.J. native led all players with a career-high seven points on four goals and three assists. Her four goals matched her career best, while her three assists marked a career-high as well.
 
Nieczpiel set a new program record with 15 draw controls in the win over La Salle, helping Saint Joseph’s earn a 25-8 advantage in draws on the afternoon. The performance tied for the most draw controls in a single game by an A-10 women’s lacrosse player this season. The draw specialist from Wallingford, Pa. helped Saint Joseph’s earn a 22-9 win against the Explorers.
 
Sheild led Rhode Island to a 15-8 victory over Duquesne on Saturday, tallying four points. The midfielder from Richmond, Va. scored three goals and added an assist in one of the strongest performances of her freshman campaign. She also added three ground balls and one draw control.
