WASHINGTON -- Dayton sophomore Kyle McNally was selected as the Men's Tennis Player of the Week, while his teammate freshman Sturle Skigeslstrand was chosen as the Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row. On the women's side, Davidson senior Kavya Patel was selected as the Player of the Week and Fordham freshman Catalina Padilla chosen as the Rookie of the Week. The awards, chosen Tuesday, were for matches played from February 10 - February 16.

McNally went 2-0 in both singles and doubles this week, winning at No. 1 singles and doubles for the Flyers. The Algonquin, Ill. native won 6-2, 6-1 over Cedarville and turned around to win 6-4, 6-2 that night against Northern Kentucky. The sophomore also teamed with Brady Hussey to win 6-2 over CU and 6-4 over NKU. It was the sixth consecutive victory for the Flyers.

Skigelstrand went 1-1 in singles and 2-0 in doubles this week, helping the Flyers to their sixth consecutive victory. The Stavanger, Norway native, playing at No. 2 singles, defeated Cedarville 6-4, 6-1 before losing to NKU in two tight sets, 7-6, 7-6. Winning Rookie of the Week plaudits for the second week in a row, Skigelstrand also teamed with Sai Dore to win both doubles matches in dominating fashion, beating CU 6-0 and NKU 6-1.

Patel helped lead the Wildcats to a 1-1 weekend with a 4-2 win over ECU and narrow 4-3 loss to Fordham. The Roswell, Ga. native was an undefeated 2-0 in No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles over the weekend. Patel clinched the win over the Pirates for the 'Cats with a 6-2, 6-7(8), 6-2 in the top spot.

Padilla provided the winning match in Fordham's 4-3 win over Davidson on Saturday, defeating Davidson's Ines Roti in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, at sixth singles to clinch the match for the Rams. In Fordham's 4-0 loss at Clemson on Friday, the Cochabamba, Bolivia native took the first set from Clemson's Gaia Parravicini 6-3 and was tied 2-2 in second set when match was halted.
