WASHINGTON -- Fresh off a win over No. 7 Virginia, the Richmond duo of sophomore Lucas Littlejohn and graduate student Zach Vigue were selected as the. Under Armour Atlantic 10 Men's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week. High Point freshman Owen Bunten and St. Bonaventure freshman Lad Harper split Rookie laurels. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played on February 10-16.
Littlejohn set career-highs with four goals, two assists, two caused turnovers, and added two ground balls in Richmond's 13-10 win over #7 Virginia. The win marked Richmond's first over a ranked team since 2022, and the Spiders’ second-ever victory over the Cavaliers, with this being the first win for the Spiders in Charlottesville.
Vigue recorded 14 saves in the Virginia win, led the Spiders with seven ground balls, and caused two turnovers while also notching the first point of his career with an assist in Richmond’s 13-10 win over #7 Virginia. The Apex, N.C. native had a .583 save percentage in the game. This is Vigue's second-straight week being named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Bunten tallied a new season-high five goals in the win 17-11 over Robert Morris. The Southwick, Mass. native has now been named the Rookie of the Week in each of the three weeks this season.
Harper helped key a 9-8 win at Mount St. Mary's Tuesday, winning 14 faceoffs while posting 10 groundballs. The Ponte Verda Beach, Fla. native went 14-7 at the faceoff dot including the opening faceoff in overtime to set up the game-winning goal.
