WASHINGTON – High Point senior Ryan Hynes was named the Atlantic 10 Under Armour Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week, while Delaware sophomore Colton Silverstein earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Massachusetts freshman Thomas Bagnall and Richmond freshman Vincent Gaylord shared Co-Rookie of the Week honors. The awards were announced on Monday for games played from March 23-39.

Hynes led High Point with four goals, matching his season-high in a one-goal win over Saint Joseph’s. A midfielder from Kildeer, Ill., Hynes posted a season-high six points adding in two assists to his four goals and he had a .444 shot percentage in helping the Panthers to their second win over a ranked team this season.

A goalkeeper from Houston, Texas, Silverstein recorded his first-career victory in the win over Binghamton, allowing a career-low four goals and recording a career-best .667 save percentage.

Bagnall registered his first collegiate hat trick, which included a man-down goal. The midfielder from Oakville, Ontario, added two ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 9-7 win at St. Bonaventure.

Gaylord, a faceoff specialist from East Greenbrush, N.Y., went 16-of-20 at the stripe, leading a program-record 30 faceoff wins and fueled the Spiders’ 51–19 edge in ground balls in a win over Hobart. His 11 ground balls were one shy of his career high and rank as the third-most in a single game in program history.
