WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference named George Washington junior Grace Curry as its Under Armour Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week while St. Bonaventure sophomore Katelyn Hicks received Defensive Player of the Week. George Mason freshman Catherine Pollard was tabbed as Rookie of the Week. The awards, which were announced on Monday, are for games played Feb. 10 to Feb. 16.
Curry scored five goals on nine shots in GW’s narrow 10-9 victory over William & Mary. The Winnetka, Ill. native tallied one goal in the second and two goals each in the third and fourth periods. Through three games, Curry is second on the team in goals (nine) and points (11).
Hicks, a goalkeeper, recorded 21 saves over two games. The Islip, N.Y. native recorded a career-high 12 save performance in the Bonnies’ 18-6 victory over Canisius. Shad a .636 save percentage and allowed 12 goals against Canisius and Niagara.
Pollard scored two goals on two shots in the Patriots’ 15-4 win over Gardner-Webb. The Goochland, Va. native assisted on two goals, which gave her four points. Pollard’s four points is third-most on the Patriots.
