WASHINGTON -- For the third week in a row, Dayton sophomore Mikkel Zinder was selected as the Men's Tennis Player of the Week, while Zinder's teammate freshman Sturle Skigeslstrand was chosen as the Rookie of the Week. On the women's side, Fordham sophomore Julianne Nguyen was selected as the Player of the Week and Saint Louis freshman Madison Hill was chosen as the Rookie of the Week. The awards, chosen Tuesday, were for matches played from February 3 - February 9.

Zinder has started the 2025 season on an eight-match winning streak, going 3-0 over the weekend against Cleveland State, Duquesne and Saint Francis. The Richboro, Pa. native won at No. 2 against Cleveland State, 6-3, 6-4, and over Duquesne 6-4, 6-1. The now three-time weekly award winner then won at No. 1 over Saint Francis, 6-0, 6-4. In addition, the sophomore went 3-0 in doubles, teaming with Eric Suk to win over Cleveland State (6-3) and Duquesne (6-2) at No. 2, and then winning in exciting fashion over Saint Francis (7-6(5)) at No. 1.

Skigelstrand had a fantastic week, going 2-0 in singles action, including the match-clincher for the Flyers against Cleveland State. The Stavanger, Norway native won 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 over CSU, and won again in comeback fashion 6-7 (5), 6-0, 1-0 (5) over Duquesne the next day. He also teamed with Sai Dore in doubles to go 2-0, winning at No. 3 over Cleveland State (6-4) and at No. 2 over Saint Francis (6-4).

Nguyen won her lone singles and doubles match on the week, defeating Illinois State's Lana Caculovic in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, at first singles. The
San Gabriel, Calif. native then teamed with Nevena Kolarevic to defeat Lana Caculovic and Silvia Pomarolli at first doubles, 6-1.

Hill won in singles and doubles to help the Billikens defeat Eastern Illinois 5-2 for their first victory of the season. The Concord, N.C. native topped Michelle Kostadinova 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 singles and teamed with Nicolly Ferreira for a 6-1 No. 2 doubles win over Ornella Lomenzo and Luisa Renovales Salazar.
