CEDARVILLE, Ohio – For the fourth consecutive season, the Loyola Chicago Ramblers won the Atlantic 10 Women’s Cross Country Championship. George Mason graduate student Ella Semple was crowned the Atlantic 10 Women’s Cross Country individual title after racing to a first-place finish in 20:26.5.
Loyola Chicago won the Atlantic 10 Women’s Cross Country Championship after three Ramblers placed in the top 10. It’s their fourth Women’s Cross Country title in four years as members of the Atlantic 10. Roisin Treacy was the first Rambler to cross the finish line and was the runner-up in a time of 20:39.8. La Salle’s Gwenno Goode, the 2024 individual winner, placed third with a time of 21:00.5.
George Washington claimed silver having four Revolutionaries place in the top 15. Rounding out the top 10 finishers were Hadley Mahoney (George Washington), Barbara Neiva (Loyola Chicago), Hallie Muniz (Richmond), Bethany Graham (Loyola Chicago), Molly Sullivan (Davidson), Neve Moulai (La Salle) and Sarah Mitchell (George Washington).
GW was second with 63 points and Saint Louis placed third with 108 points. Saint Louis’ Emery Mayfield was the first Billiken to cross the finish line, racing to a time of 21:33.3 in 14th place. Clara Gillen, Sophia Pelligreen and Emily Morden placed in the top 25 for Saint Louis.
Semple is the first George Mason runner to win the individual title since Annabelle Eastman in 2021. Semple helped the Patriots finish in sixth place with 172 points. Davidson’s Annie Norman was named Most Outstanding Rookie as the first freshman to cross the finish line. She placed 15th in a time of 21:35.6 earning All-Conference First Team. Loyola Chicago head coach Gavin Kennedy was tabbed as the Women’s Coach of the Year.
Richmond placed fourth with 109 points and La Salle was fifth collecting 153 points. Muniz, the Spiders’ top finisher, placed sixth in a time of 21:19.0. Goode and Moulai placed in the top 10 for the Explorers.
Semple, Treacy, Goode, Mahoney, Neiva, Muniz, Graham, Sullivan, Moulai and Mitchell collected First Team All-Conference honors. Lola Dinneen, Claire Bohan, Lily Saul, Mayfield and Norman also earned All-Conference First Team.
George Mason (172), Davidson (176) and Dayton (195) finished sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively, Fordham tallied 234 points and Rhode Island had 238 points to round out the top 10. Saint Joseph’s, Duquesne, St. Bonaventure and VCU conclude the standings.
