WASHINGTON – George Mason sophomore Vaughn McMeans was named Under Armour Men’s Golfer of the Week, while VCU freshman Rami Samawi was tabbed as Rookie of the Week, the Atlantic 10 Conference announced on Tuesday. Dayton junior Kylee Heidemann earned Women’s Golfer of the Week, while Loyola Chicago freshman Teagan Connors collected Rookie of the Week. The awards are for competitions from Sept. 28th to Oct. 3. 

McMeans etched his name into the Patriots record book, earning his first collegiate tournament victory at the second annual Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational. McMeans shot rounds of 71-67-67-205 to finish 11-under-par and earn co-medalist honors with defending champion Kaleb Wilson from West Virginia. The Leesburg, VA native entered Tuesday's final round two strokes behind Wilson, but McMeans delivered a composed performance down the stretch, earning three birdies in the final four holes.  

Samawi, a Geneva, Switzerland native, earned a third place finish at the Shepherd’s Rock Invitational. Out of 30 participants, he shot a 68-73-71-212 at the invitational. Samawi’s shot his lowest round (68) and total of his collegiate career (212). 

Heidemann captured her first career medalist finish at Butler's Fall Invitational on Tuesday. She helped lead the Flyers to a third-place finish at Notre Dame's Women's Fighting Irish Classic, a 36-hole event. The Cincinnati native fired off a program-record-low round of 66 in round two of Butler's Invitational and went on to win a three-hole playoff after tying for first place among the field of 82. 

Connors snagged a top-20 finish, tying for 18th at the Butler Fall Invitational. The New Orleans, LA native scored 223 (76-74-73). Connors round of 73 was her second-best round score of the season and just two strokes off her personal best. The Ramblers went on to finish fifth out of 14 programs.
