WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced George Mason sophomore Vaughn McMeans as its Under Armour Men’s Golfer of the Week, while St. Bonaventure freshman Colin Barber claimed the Rookie of the Week award. Dayton junior Kylee Heidemann claimed her third consecutive Women’s Golfer of the Week, while Loyola Chicago freshman Reese Kite was named Rookie of the Week. The awards, which were announced on Tuesday, are for competitions from October 6 to October 12. 

For the second straight week, McMeans earned medalist honors, leading the George Mason men's golf team to a fourth-place finish at The Island at West Bay College Invitational. McMeans earned co-medalist honors with Eastern Michigan's Charlie Box with 15-under-par (66-67-68) three-round scores. He notched six birdies with only one blemish on the card, a double-bogey on the Par 4, Hole 13. The effort launches McMeans into George Mason golf history. It's the second-best 54-hole vs. Par score, only one stroke back of Mike Kirby's 16-under-par during the 2005-06 season. McMeans, a Leesburg, VA native, collected his second consecutive Men’s Golfer of the Week award.  

Barber earned a top 25 finish at the Matthews Auto Intercollegiate, helping St. Bonaventure secure a third-place team finish. The Victor, NY native continued his steady play in his debut season as well, tying for 23rd on the leaderboard. Barber shot 73 on Sunday, followed by even par 72 in the finale. St. Bonaventure was just three shots back of champion Iona and one stroke off the pace of host Binghamton. 

Heidemann turned in her second-consecutive first-place finish at Western Michigan's Bronco Fall Classic, finishing six strokes ahead of second place. She helped lead the Flyers to a tie for first place in team standings, but the host Broncos won the tiebreaker. Heidemann parred a total of 40 holes, most among the field of 41. The Cincinnati, OH native shot 73-73-73 over the three-day tournament.  

Kite landed tied for second on the leaderboard with a +9 finish, marking her first ever top five and top 10 finish. She scored 225 (73-76-76). Her score of 73 in the first round matches her career-best score. Kite, a Waterloo, Iowa native, assisted Loyola Chicago to a third-place team finish out of seven programs.
