WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Davidson junior Elena Garcia-Guerrios its Under Armour Volleyball Player of the Week. Dayton freshman Abigail Cresse was chosen as the league’s Defensive Player of the Week. Saint Louis freshman Jetta Brenning was selected as the Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played from October 20-26.
 
Garcia-Guerrios recorded her 11th kill-dig double-double of the season in first match against George Wasington. The outside hitter from Manati, Puerto Rico, had 16 kills and 13 digs in the first GW match with a pair of aces. She followed that with 20 kills while hitting .400 in second match against the Revolutionaries, the fourth time this season with 20 or more kills in a match.
 
Cresse, led the Flyers with 18 blocks, tallying eight of those in Saturday's win against George Mason, A middle blocker from Fort Wayne, Ind., she averaged 2.0 blocks per set and 2.11 points per set. Cresse also recorded 10 kills with a .421 attack percentage in nine sets played, all Flyer wins.
 
Brenning, a setter from Powell, Ohio, averaged 10.50 assists, 3.33 digs, and 1.33 kills (hitting .400) per set over six sets this weekend. On Saturday, she recorded her 11th double-double of the season with 36 assists and 13 digs while adding two aces.
