WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference named Rhode Island junior Nick Martin as its Under Armour Men’s Cross Country Performer of the Week, while his freshman teammate Matt Lucas earned his second Rookie of the Week accolade. Duquesne senior Gina Bolla was tabbed as the Under Armour Cross Country Performer of the Week and Rhode Island freshman Jordan Hadfield earned Rookie of the Week. The awards, which were announced on Tuesday, are for competitions from October 7 to October 12.  

Martin was the top finisher for Rhode Island at the New England Championship, finishing in the top five in 24:06.33. His efforts helped the Rams clinch their second New England title in three years. Martin, an East Greenwich, RI native, finished the 8K event in third place. 

Lucas finished 13th at the New England Championship on Friday. The Monroe Township, NJ native raced to a time of 24:43.19.  Lucas’ top 25 finish helped lead the Rams to their second title in three years at the New England Championship. 

Bolla led the way for the Dukes, finishing third in the women's 5K out of 183 runners at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational. Bolla, a Pittsburgh, PA native, raced to a time of 17:15.5, setting a personal best in the process.  

Hadfield, a Pittsgrove, N.J. native, raced to a time of 18:42.93 at the 2025 New England ICAAA Championships. She placed 43rd out 281 runners, earning her second Rookie of the Week honors. Hadfield’s performance helped Rhode Island place sixth out of 25 teams.
