WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference recognized Loyola Chicago graduate student William Sinclair as its Men’s Cross Country Performer of the Week, while La Salle freshman Jacob Gardner was named Rookie of the Week. George Mason graduate student Ella Semple received Women’s Cross Country Performer of the Week and Davidson freshman Annie Normas was named Rookie of the Week. The awards, which were announced on Tuesday, are for competitions from Sept. 29 to Oct. 5.  

Sinclair paced the Loyola men with a fourth-place finish in the Championship 8K. The Tauwhare, New Zealand native completed the 8K in 23:24.66. His performance anchored the Ramblers to a runner-up team finish and a victory over two nationally ranked opponents. 

Gardner, a Hobart, Australia native, competed in the Paul Short Run for La Salle. He raced the 8K event in 24:20.7 and finished in 12th place.  

Semple led the way for the Patriots in the Women’s College Gold 6K at the Paul Short Run. Semple, who is from the United Kingdom, clocked a time of 20:17.2 to secure a 19th place finish in the race.  

Norman raced to a fourth place finish at the Dill Family Foundation Invite, helping Davidson secure the team title. Norman, a Milwaukee, WI native set a new personal-record with a time of 21:44.36.
