ORLANDO, FLA. - The 2024 Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championship kicked off Thursday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando with a pair of early morning matches. The Championship will conclude on Sunday morning at 10:00 am.
The eighth-seeded Duquesne Dukes rattled off four consecutive singles victories to defeat No. 9 Fordham, 4-1, to earn a spot in the A-10 quarterfinals on Friday. Fordham struck first in doubles play on court three as the pair of Bingru Chen and Stefan Stojanovic earned a 6-3 decision against Pierce Manning and Bode Vance. Duquesne's top team of Kaipo Marshall and Tamirlan Teberikov evened the score, outlasting Nicholas Kanazirev and Dhillon Virdee-Oakley, 7-6. The Rams clinched the doubles point on court two behind Gio Soemarno and John Mascone, who also won 7-6. Marshall netted his second win of the day, taking court No. 1 and knotting the match at 1-1. Alfrendo Vogelaar followed behind with a straight-set victory of his own at court four to put the Dukes ahead, 2-1. Keita Duclos battled back after a second-set loss to secure Duquesne's third point of the match before Jin Dassanayake clinched court five and the 4-2 team victory. With the win, Duquesne will play top-seeded VCU on Friday at 9:00 am.

The seventh-seeded St. Bonaventure Bonnies outlasted No. 10 Saint Joseph's on Thursday to earn a spot in the A-10 Men's Tennis quarterfinals. The Bonnies took the doubles point, winning on court No. 2 and No. 3. SBU's Jean Marrero and Anargha Ganguly first dispatched John Butler and Eli Gan-Dy before the Hawks top pair of Ernesto Ruy and Othman Bezzaz evened the score against Archie Graham and Hugo Cochlin. Connor Turner and Rasmus Egehus won the tiebreak on court three to clinch the match's opening point. In singles action, the Bonnies and Hawks traded blows, starting with court No. 4 and Turner's straight-set victory to give SBU a 2-0 lead. Bezzaz got the Hawks on the board with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at court three, followed by Ruy's win at court two that tied the match 2-2. Jean Marrero would swing the match back in Bona's favor on court five, overcoming a first-set loss, before Norka Sanchez clinched the three-set No 6 victory and the 4-2 overall win. The Bonnies will take on No. 2 Richmond on Friday at 11:30 am.
