Loyola Chicago Three-Peats as Atlantic 10 Women's Cross Country Champion

MECHANICSVILLE, Va – Loyola Chicago won its third consecutive Atlantic 10 Women’s Cross Country championship finishing with 36 points and four top 10 individual performances. La Salle’s Gwenno Goode was the individual champion at 20:10.4 at Pole Green Park on Saturday afternoon.
Goode recorded the fastest time by an individual since the A-10 extended the championship race to a 6K course in 2023. She broke VCU’s Lauren Tunnell’s mark of 20:50.6 set in 2023. Goode received the Most Outstanding Women’s Performer award and All-Conference honors. She is La Salle’s first individual champion since Liz Mancini completed the feat in 2022.
Loyola Chicago's Delia McDade-Clay, Emma Watcke, and Grace Kuhn crossed the finish line at 20:45.4 to finish in fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively. Roisin Treacy earned a seventh-place finish at 20:45.5, just one tenth of a second behind her teammates. The four Ramblers earned All-Conference honors. Loyola's Gavin Kennedy won his third straight A-10 Coach of the Year plaudit.
UMass placed second with 113 points and George Mason finished in third with 121 points. The Minutewomen had two runners earn All-Conference honors, Sydney Adams and Eugenia Fairhurst. Adams finished in ninth (20:57.3) and Fairhurst completed the race in 12th (21:02.5). Second place is  the Minutewomen’s highest finish since 2000.
GM’s Ella Semple, Maisie Burns, and McKenzie Dillman placed in 10th, 13th and 15th place with times of 21:01.0, 21:02.9 and 21:11.1, respectively. The trio collected All-Conference nods and Burns earned Most Outstanding Women’s Rookie accolades with the highest finish by a freshman at Saturday’s championship.
Fordham’s Katarina Birimac placed second at 20:31.9 and Duquense’s Haley Hamilton finished in third at 20:38.8. Birimac and Hamilton collected All-Conference honors. La Salle placed in fourth (123 points) and Duquesne (172 points) placed in fifth to round out the top five.
Joining the All-Conference team with their top 15 finishes are Richmond’s Laurel Kurtz, Saint Joseph’s Ava Curry and Loyola’s Grace Jostock by finishing in eighth, 11th and 14th place respectively.
All Atlantic 10 teams are eligible to compete in NCAA Regionals, which take place at nine sites around the country.
