Dayton's McNally, Richmond Doubles Duo of Brashear and Wiley Earn A-10 Bids to ITA Conference Master's

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Dayton’s Kyle McNally and the Richmond duo of Cole Brashear and Davis Wiley captured the Atlantic 10 Individual Masters tournament in singles and doubles respectively Sunday at Davidson College.

All three advance in their respective categories to the ITA Conference Masters as Atlantic 10 representatives, with an opportunity to reach the NCAA Individual Championship, which is now contested during the Fall season.

McNally captured the singles berth to the ITA Masters Qualifier with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over German Samofalov of VCU Sunday morning. He began his run by topping Saint Joseph’s Ernesto Ruy in the round of 16, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5). He then dispatched Davidson’s Juan Camilo Perez in a tight quarterfinal match that broke 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 in McNally’s favor. In the semis, he beat Andres Castellanos of Saint Louis, 6-0, 6-2 to set up the final match with Samofalov.

Brashear and Wiley won the doubles with a 6-1,6-3 victory over McNally and his partner Brady Hussey in the finals Sunday morning. The Spider duo began their campaign by downing Fordham’s Filip Horak and William Lokier, 8-6 in the opening round before securing and 8-4 win over Niza Simunyola and Monil Lotikar of George Mason.

The ITA Conference Masters will take place in Rome, Ga., beginning on Nov. 7.
