WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference tabbed La Salle senior MacCallum Rowe and Dayton freshman Andrew Wilcox as its Men’s Cross Country Performer and Rookie Performer of the Week, respectively. Loyola Chicago graduate student Delia McDade-Clay and George Mason graduate student Ella Semple earned Women’s Cross Country Performer and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively. The awards, which were announced on Tuesday, are for competitions from Oct. 16 to Oct. 21.
Rowe, a New Plymouth, New Zealand native, completed the Panorama Farms Invitational with a time of 23:36.6. He finished the 8K 11th overall and was the first La Salle runner to cross the finish line. Rowe helped the Explorers to a sixth place team finish.
Wilcox raced to a 24:52.7 at the Bradley Pink Classic in the Men’s Red Race and was the first Dayton runner to complete the 8K race. He finished in 86th place with an average mile of 5:00. Wilcox, a Monroe, OH native, ran the 16th-best time in school history as a freshman. The Bradley Pink Invitational was only his second-ever race at the 8k distance and a 61-second personal record.
McDade-Clay raced to a PR of 20:24.0 at the Bradley Pink Classic in the Women’s Red Race 6K. The Rochester, NY native finished in sixth place and was the first Loyola Chicago runner to cross the finish line. She helped the Ramblers to a second place team finish.
Semple placed in 12
th at the ECAC Championships. She completed the 6K race with a time of 21:20.7. Semple, a United Kingdom native, helped George Mason to a fourth place team finish out of 20 programs.
