NEWPORT NEWS, Va.- The Atlantic 10 Conference has named VCU graduate student Indigo Torre Martin and Davidson senior Mira Gladstone its Men's and Women's Tennis Performers of the Week. VCU’s Joaquim Almedia and Massachusetts Renata Farima earned Rookie of the Week accolades. The awards, announced Tuesday, are for matches played Mar. 28- Apr. 3.
Martin, a native of Bilbao, Spain, had a successful week claiming two singles and one doubles victory across three match wins for the Rams. These wins included 7-5, 6-1 win over UTSA's Sebastian Rodriguez that clinched a definitive 4-1 win for the Rams.
Gladstone, a native of Port Orange, Fla., won both her doubles and singles matches in Davidson's fourth 2-0 weekend, helping to push the Wildcats to 4-1 in conference play.

Almedia, held a strong 4-1 record over three match wins this weekend for VCU. This included a dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory over UTSA's Garrett Skelly and a commanding 6-2, 6-1 win over Navy's Cy McLeod. The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil native also took home two strong doubles victories with partner Matisse Bobichon.
Moldavian native Renata Farima went 2-0 overall on Sunday, as the Minutewomen picked up a 5-2 victory over Fordham. The freshman secured one triumph in both singles and doubles play. In doubles competition, her and partner Anna Napadiy took down their Fordham opponents, 6-2, at court No. 2. Farima notched a point for UMass at No. 1 singles, defeating her opponent 6-1, 6-3.
