ORLANDO, Fla. – Sixth-seeded Saint Louis defeated No. 11 George Mason 4-1 in the first round of the 2022 Atlantic 10 Women’s Tennis Championship at the USTA National Campus Wednesday.
 
Saint Louis advances to face No.3 Fordham Thursday at 5:30 pm.
 
Saint Louis took an early match lead with victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Mariona Perez and Elizabeth Mintusova defeated Grace Hashiguchi and Jackie Nannery, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Jessica Stefan and Mya Spencer secured the doubles point for the Billikens at No. 2 doubles, (7-5).

Lucija Faj stamped the first singles point for SLU, defeating Ashley Fitz-Patrick 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4. Elizabeth Mintusova then earned a victory at No. 2 singles 6-3, 6-0 over Grace Hashiguchi. Mariona Perez defeated Hannah Young at No. 2 6-3, 6-0, securing the match win for the Saint Louis.
