NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – A pair of Saint Louis teammates, Demi Sahuleka and Kendyl Underwood, have been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Field Hockey Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, the league announced Tuesday. Davidson’s Lena Stiebing took Rookie of the Week honors. The awards are the first of the season for games played through Feb. 28, and are presented by Biosteel.

Sahuleka, a sophomore from Dieren, Netherlands, tallied five goals and one assist for the Billikens in their opening week of the season, including a hat-trick in Saint Louis’ inaugural game of the year against Lindenwood. Sahuleka continued her excellent play through the weekend, tallying a goal in each of the Billikens’ two games against Bellarmine.

Underwood, a freshman goalkeeper from Glenn Dale, Md., led the Billikens to three consecutive shutouts, tallying six saves over the course of the week while facing ten shots.

Davidson sealed their first win of the season atop a fantastic performance by Stiebing, a freshman from The Hauge, Netherlands. The rookie was involved in three of Davidson’s four goals, scoring one and assisting two of her teammates. Stiebing also scored a goal in the Wildcats’ loss to Liberty on Feb. 14.
