WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference has announced its weekly honors in field hockey. The awards are for games played from September 28-October 4.

Offensive Player of the Week: Clara Larripa (Sr., Buenos Aires, Argentina), Richmond
Defensive Player of the Week: Avianna Wagner (Jr., Philadelphia, Pa.), Saint Joseph’s
Rookie of the Week: RB McGowan (Fr., St. Louis, Mo.), Saint Louis

Clara Larripa led the Spiders with four goals in their A10 win over La Salle on Friday, her fourth game this season with at least three goals. Of particular note, the senior’s second goal came just 40 seconds into the second quarter when she got the ball mid-stride near the 25, drove past multiple Explorers trying to get back on defense, and hit the fade away shot into the top corner. The goal was No. 10 on ESPN SportsCenter’s “Top 10 Plays” that night. Larripa has 16 goals in just 11 games so far this season—tied with Iowa’s Frederique van Cleef for tops in the nation—and she leads the nation in goals per game (1.45). The Spiders went 1-1 on the weekend, following Friday’s win over the Explorers with a 2-0 loss to No. 17 Liberty on Sunday.

Avianna Wagner totaled 15 saves over the weekend as the Hawks split a pair of games. On Friday, she made seven stops to stifle Davidson's attack in a 5-1 conference win over the Wildcats, which lifted SJU to the top of the A10 standings at 3-0. On Sunday, she tallied eight stops—including a penalty-stroke save late in the second quarter—to help the Hawks keep a lead late into the fourth quarter before they ultimately fell at third-ranked Duke in overtime, 2-1.

RB McGowan saw time in both of Saint Louis’ games over the weekend, dishing out an assist and putting a shot on goal in the Billikens' 3-0 win against Maryville on Sunday. SLU went 2-0 on the weekend, winning for the first time ever at Lock Haven on Friday in A10 play.
