CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- La Salle won the 2021 Atlantic 10 Men’s Cross Country Championship Saturday morning, its 11th A-10 title at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course. Head Coach Tom Peterson was selected for the 2021 Atlantic 10 Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year. Richmond’s Peter Borger was the Men’s Individual Champion, finishing in 24:35.3.
Taonga Mbambo led the way for the La Salle, finishing fourth overall with a time of 24:55.0. He was followed by teammate Ibrahim Kedir's sixth place finish at 24:57.5. The Explorers' Luke Jaciw-Zurakowsky, finished 13
th at 25:17.3, and Ryan James placed 14
th with a time of 25:18.1. James Ptack finshed out the La Salle top five, placing 16th at 25:22.8.
La Salle finished with 53 points, followed by Saint Louis in second place with 92 points and George Mason in third with 98 points. Dayton was fourth with 109 points, and Richmond rounded out the top five with 135 points.
Mason's Jack Ikenberry was second overall, clocking in at 24:43.3 followed by Stuart Terrill of Richmond in third at 24:47.6. Geroge Washington's James Glockenmeier placed fifth at 24:56.6.
Saint Joseph's Ethan McIntyre, who earned Most Outstanding Rookie, was the first freshman to finish, crossing the line seventh overall at 25:03.3.
Saint Louis' second place was the highest finish for the Billikens in their tenure in the Atlantic 10. SLU was led by Adam Walker who finished 10
th with a time of 25:09.5.
