NEWPORT News, Va. - Former University of Rhode Island Track & Field standout Jeremy Collins won the title of Sole Survivor on CBS’ long running reality show and was awarded the one million dollar prize in “Survivor: Second Chance” Wednesday evening in Los Angeles, Calif.
Collins competed in Track & Field for the Rams from 1996-2000 and was twice named the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Most Outstanding Performer (1997, 1999). He was also the Most Outstanding Rookie Performer at the 1997 Indoor Championship and remains the A-10 Indoor Track & Field record holder in the 400 meters with a time of 47.50.
In a season that started with 20 returning contestants, Collins was the unanimous winner following the 39 grueling days in Cambodia.
