Atlantic 10 Postgraduate Scholarship Program

Each year, the Atlantic 10 honors outstanding student-athletes, who excel in academics and athletics, with scholarships to pursue their studies following completion of their undergraduate degrees.

The program, which began honoring two student-athletes in 1991, has been expanded several times. The most recent expansion, which was adopted in January of 2015, now includes one representative from each the 14 A-10 institutions. During the span of the last five years, the conference has awarded $350,000 to 66 former student-athletes and annually awards scholarship funding, with each recipient receiving contribution towards full-time enrollment in a graduate or professional program.

The scholarship recipients have attended colleges and universities throughout the United States, as well as internationally. Award winners have included a Fulbright Scholarship recipient, eight institutional and two conference NCAA Woman of the Year nominees, SAAC representatives, Academic All Americans, A-10 record-holders and championship Most Outstanding Performers, Players of the Week, Dean's List and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll recipients as well as team captains, MVP's and community activists. They have pursued post-graduate degrees in a variety of disciplines including medicine and health, pharmacy, law and political science, engineering, the sciences, sports management, business administration and more.

POSTGRADUATE APPLICATION PROCESS:

  • Each A-10 member has implemented its own process to select the student-athlete that will be awarded with an A-10 Postgraduate Scholarship. The process involves each institution's Faculty Athletic Representative, Senior Woman Administrator and Director of Athletics (or designee).
  • Interested student-athletes should contact one of the above individuals on their respective campuses.
