WASHINGTON – 33 student athletes representing nine Atlantic 10 universities qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field First Round.
George Mason and VCU paced the conference with seven qualifying student-athletes each, while Rhode Island sent four student-athletes to regionals. La Salle racked up four qualifiers and Loyola Chicago tallied three selections. Duquesne, George Washington, and Saint Louis each qualified two student-athletes, as Davidson, Dayton and Richmond rounded out the list with one student-athlete each.
Alex DeRoussel, Davian Burke, Kellen La Roche, and Walter Bannerman will represent the George Mason’s men’s team at the NCAA East Regional, while Ella Semple, Abigail Weening, and Kennedy Drish earned spots for the women’s team. Bannerman and Drish will compete in the men’s and women’s pole vault events, respectively, as La Roche and Weening compete in their respective high jump events. Burke is slated for the 110-meter hurdles, DeRoussel for the 3,000-meter steeplechase, and Semple for the 5,000 meters.
Presten Augustin, Phillip Daniel, Isaiah-Taji Kargbo Owens, and Troy McWilliams earned the nod for the VCU men’s team and Sydney Carr, Bianca Pereira, and Melissa Casiraghi qualified on the women’s side. Augustin will compete in multiple events (110m hurdles, 400m hurdles) as both Daniel and Owens compete in the men’s triple jump. Pereira and Casiraghi will both represent the Rams in the women’s hammer throw, and McWilliams competes in the men’s hammer throw. Carr is slated for the women’s triple jump.
Nick Martin, Matthew Santy, Josia Katroli, and Joachim Ennoo, who helped lead the Rams to the 2026 A-10 Men’s Outdoor Track and Field title, represent Rhode Island at the NCAA East Men’s Regional. Martin will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Santy in the high jump and long jump, Katroli in the high jump, and Ennoo in the long jump and triple jump.
La Salle’s Sean Cronin and Chanel Muir earned spots in the 1,500 meters. Explorers freshman Jacob Gardner will compete in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase, and La Salle’s Gwenno Goode qualified in the same event on the women’s side.
Loyola Chicago’s Nate Boutin will take the track in the 3,000-meter steeplechase event of the NCAA West Regional, as Ramblers graduate student Rodolfo Sanchez competes in the 1,500 meters. On the women’s side, Roisin Tracy represents the Ramblers in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Saint Louis also earned a pair of selections in the NCAA West Regional – Tristan Boatman in the men’s hammer throw and Madeline Rowold in the women’s javelin throw.
George Washington’s Michael Bohlke reached the East Regional in the 1,500 meters and Megan Heidebrecht will represent the Revolutionaries in the triple jump. Duquesne sent multiple student athletes in the women’s javelin throw – Mary Grusky and Makayla Keck.
Dayton’s Camryn Thompson, who helped lead the Flyers to their first-ever A-10 Women’s Outdoor Track and Field title, will compete in the high jump at the East Regional. Davidson’s John Teachman will represent the Wildcats, competing in the javelin throw.
The first round competitions are scheduled for May 27-30. The University of Kentucky will host the East First Round and the University of Arkansas will host the West First Round. The qualifiers from these two sites will compete in the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore.
