WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference tabbed Saint Joseph’s sophomore Santiago Valle as its Under Armour Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, St. Bonaventure freshman Dilraj Singh Dhillon was selected as Rookie of the Week. Bonnies senior Tamara Bachmann claimed the Women’s Tennis Player of the Week award and her freshman teammate Sara Montano Parada earned Rookie of the Week honors. The league announced the awards on Tuesday for matches played from March 30 to April 5.
 
Valle put together an unbeaten week as the Hawks earned three team victories. The San Luis Potosi, Mexico native helped win the doubles point on Tuesday against Villanova before earning the clinching singles point with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 come-from-behind triumph against Cooper Gordon at the No. 1 position. After earning another No. 1 doubles win against George Mason, Valle continued to excel at the top of the singles lineup by defeating Deniz Okyay 6-3, 6-1.
 
Dhillon held his own in the Bonnies’ 5-2 loss against Duquesne, earning a hard-fought singles victory at the No. 4 position. The Surrey, British Columbia native battled to a three-set triumph against Austin Lai, winning the match 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.
 
Bachmann made efficient work out of her opponents in St. Bonaventure Women’s Tennis team’s 5-2 victory against Duquesne. The Zurich, Switzerland product earned a 7-5 doubles victory alongside Montano Parada at the top spot in the lineup, before cruising past Alexandra O’Brian 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 2 singles slot.
 
Montano Parada also scored a pair of individual victories, starting with the doubles win with Bachmann. The Santa Cruz, Bolivia native took down Duquesne’s Naomi Lalonde 6-3, 7-5 at the top singles position, helping the Bonnies snap a six-match losing streak.
