McNally Named Under Armour Men’s Tennis Player of the Week as Lee, Herman Share Women’s POTW Honors; Richmond, Dayton Earn Rookie Accolades

WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference tabbed Dayton junior Kyle McNally as its Under Armour Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the third straight week, while Dayton freshman Rishi Dore and Dayton freshman Rishi Dore was selected the Rookie of the Week. Rhode Island senior Sophie Herman and Richmond sophomore Abby Lee claimed Women’s Tennis Co-Player of the Week awards and Spider freshman Beatriz Guerra earned Rookie of the Week honors. The league announced the awards on Tuesday for matches played from March 23 to March 29.
 
McNally put together a 4-0 week to lead the Flyers to victories over A-10 opponents Fordham and Duquesne. The Algonquin, Ill. native won 6-4, 6-2 at the top singles position against Fordham’s Will Lokier on Saturday, adding a 6-3 doubles victory on Court 2 alongside Eric Suk. The pair won 6-2 at the same position against Duquesne, before McNally defeated Enrique Lana 6-1, 6-2 at the top spot in the lineup.
 
Dore’s strong week earned the Springboro, Ohio native his second consecutive rookie accolade, and third of this season. Slotted at the No. 6 singles position against Fordham, Dore bested Timotej Stofa 6-1, 6-2. Playing alongside teammate Skurle Skigelstrand at the No. 3 position, Dore acquired doubles victories against Fordham (6-3) and Duquesne (6-3).
 
Herman went 3-0 last week, helping Rhode Island win 4-0 at Saint Joseph’s and 4-2 at Drexel. Herman played the No. 3 singles position, taking down Saint Joseph’s 6-2, 6-3 before beating Drexel’s Sofiya Snitko 6-4, 6-3 the next day. The Zionsville, Ind. product teamed up with Ava Grnja for a 6-4 doubles victory on Court 3 against the Dragons as well.
 
Lee posted a perfect week for Richmond, going 2-0 in singles play across two matches competing in the middle of the lineup. The Daufuskie Island, S.C. native accounted for the Spiders’ lone point in a match against VCU with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Viktoria Lackova. Lee defeated East Carolina’s Xenia Jeromin 6-4, 6-2 as well, earning a 6-4 doubles victory that day at the top doubles position alongside Sofia Barbulescu.
 
Guerra made a strong impact for the Spiders, earning a commanding 6-2, 6-2 victory over East Carolina’s Joan Madi at the No. 6 position, helping Richmond earn a 4-3 win over the Pirates. The Natal, Brazil native also logged a 6-1 doubles victory against VCU.
