WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference tabbed Richmond senior Davis Wiley as its Under Armour Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the third straight week, while George Mason freshman Edgar Vilain and Dayton freshman Rishi Dore were selected as the league’s Co-Rookies of the Week. VCU sophomore Andrea Magallanes claimed the Women’s Tennis Player of the Week award and Rams freshman Viktoria Lackova earned Rookie of the Week honors. The league announced the awards on Tuesday for matches played from March 16 to March 22.

Wiley put together another strong showing in a 1-1 week for the Spiders, going 4-0 individually against strong competition. The Arlington, Va. native provided Richmond’s lone point of the day in a 4-1 loss to Delaware, defeated Tobey Lock at the No. 1 singles position. He also earned a 6-4 victory against the Blue Hens alongside Cole Brashear at the top spot in the doubles lineup. The pair added another doubles win, 6-4, at the No. 2 position in Richmond’s 6-1 win over Georgetown, as Wiley took down Arthur O’Sullivan 6-0, 6-3 on Court 1.

Dore put together a 3-0 week for Dayton, helping the Flyers earn victories against A-10 opponents Davidson and Saint Louis. The Springboro, Ohio native defeated Davidson’s Charlie Ratliff 6-2, 3-6, 10-2 on Court 6, adding a 6-2 doubles victory on Court 3 alongside Sturle Skigelstrand. Dore took down Saint Louis’ Riki Koshimizu 6-1, 6-0 on Saturday at the No. 5 slot.

Vilain continued his strong freshman campaign, going 3-0 with a singles win and two doubles victories. Playing alongside teammate Niza Simunyola at the No. 2 doubles position, the pair earned a 6-2 triumph against Boston and 6-1 win against Wagner. Vilain, an Oakville, Ontario native, stepped up to the challenge in the latter matchup, taking down Wagner’s Vibhu Challagundla 3-6, 6-0, 10-6 on Court 5. The Patriots won both matches, defeating Boston 4-0 and Wagner 7-0.

Magallanes performed exceptionally for VCU against stiff competition. The Maracay, Venezuela native helped the Rams earn a 4-0 victory over George Mason, taking down Noelle Talarek 6-2, 6-2 on Court 5 and winning 6-1 at the No. 2 doubles position alongside teammate Sofia Jane Thorne. The pair earned a strong 7-6 (7-3) doubles victory against No. 62 Old Dominion later in the week, before Magallanes’ singles match came to a halt while the VCU sophomore led by a set.

Lackova held her own for the Rams as well, going 3-1 across both dual matches. The rookie from Bratislava, Slovakia went 2-0 against George Mason, defeating Mary Young 6-3, 6-3 on Court 4 and winning 6-1 at No. 3 doubles alongside Sara Alba. Alba and Lackova helped VCU clinch the doubles point against No. 62 ODU with a 6-2 victory at the same position, before the freshman dropped a tough match at No. 4 singles.
