WASHINGTON — For the second consecutive season, two Atlantic 10 women’s basketball teams earned bids to the NCAA Tournament, announced on Sunday night.
Rhode Island, the league’s automatic bid as the winner of the 2026 Betterment A-10 Women’s Basketball Championship, received a No. 11 seed. Reaching the NCAA Tournament for the second time in program history, the Rams will face No. 6 Seed Alabama on Saturday, March 21. The matchup will take place in Louisville, Ky., hosted by No. 3 seed Louisville. Rhode Island owns a 28-4 overall record, taking down Loyola Chicago, Davidson, and George Mason last week en route to the conference title.
Coming off the program’s fourth consecutive 20-win season, Richmond (26-7, 15-3 A-10) earned a No. 11 seed. After winning an NCAA Tournament game in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, the Spiders will face No. 11 seed Nebraska in the First Four. The game will take place on Wednesday, March 18 in Durham, N.C. as part of the pod hosted by No. 3 seed Duke. Richmond has the best NET ranking in the A-10, higher than any team outside of the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, and Big East.
